Who is this course for? Existing first aiders whose FAW certificate is still in date (or has expired within the last 28 days).

Your First Aid at Work certificate lasts three years. If you renew before it expires you only need this two day requalification course rather than the full three day course, saving you a day and money.

Bring your certificate

You will need to show your current FAW certificate on day one. The HSE allows a 28 day grace period after expiry; after that you must retake the full three day course.

What we cover

The course refreshes every topic from the full FAW syllabus, updates you on any changes to guidelines, and puts you through realistic scenarios so your skills are sharp for another three years.

What the course covers

  • Updated first aid guidelines
  • CPR and AED refresher
  • Bleeding, wounds and shock
  • Fractures and spinal injuries
  • Major illness and medical emergencies
  • Practical scenario assessments

Frequently asked questions

My certificate expired last month, can I still requalify?

If it expired less than 28 days ago, yes. Beyond that you need the full three day First Aid at Work course.

Do I need an annual refresher?

The HSE strongly recommends a short annual refresher between requalifications. We offer a three hour Basic Life Support and AED session for this.
